Basic Evacuation from Height Training

Basic procedures and techniques for the safe evacuation of people working at height. Duration: 1 day.

Course designed for employees and supervisors of work at height, preparing them for solo and team evacuation of a casualty from a suspended position in fall protection systems, before specialised rescue services arrive.

Theory

Regulations on evacuation and rescue during work at height. The obligation to have a Rescue Plan. Suspension trauma and the risks of prolonged suspension in a harness. Hierarchy of rescue actions — from self-evacuation to team assistance.

Practice

Basic techniques for lowering and hauling a casualty. Building simple evacuation systems using available equipment. Safely handing over the casualty to rescue services.

Requirements

Protective clothing, at least 18 years of age, valid medical certificate authorising work at height above 3 m.
