Basic Height Rescue Techniques Training
For teams responsible for safety at height. Duration: 1–2 days.
Course designed for employees assigned to act as a rescuer at a work-at-height site. Prepares them to carry out a safe rescue operation using basic rescue equipment, before specialised services arrive on site.
Theory
The Rescue Plan and its elements. Recognising a rescue situation and assessing risk to the rescuer. Suspension trauma and first aid after prolonged suspension. Hierarchy of rescue actions.
Practice
Building basic rescue systems — lowering and hauling. Reaching and securing the casualty. Transporting the casualty to a safe location. Working in rescue pairs.
Requirements
Completed basic work at height training, at least 18 years of age, valid medical certificate authorising work at height above 3 m.
